DIN
4102 Class A1 (building industry) Non destructibility
Directions for use of Autostic
Surfaces to be bonded should be dry, clean
and grease free.
Stir well before use to obtain a uniform light grey colour.
Choose
a grade of suitable viscosity to fill the gaps completely, apply to one surface,
bring the two surfaces together and clamp the joint.
Autostic curing
Cure will take place at ambient temperatures but it may take up to 48 hours with the thinner grades, depending on the application. Where possible it is recommended that assemblies be heated to speed up cure. An initial temperature of 70º to 80 ºc is ideal. A post cure at higher temperatures can sometimes improve the properties.
Autostic Packaging
Autostic is available in 500gm and 3kilo containers. FC8 is also available in 500gm cartridge form.
Autostic Storage
Store material in original containers only. A shelf life of 1 year can be expected if stored in conditions of between +5 and+25ºc

AUTOSTIC FS
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
Autostic FS is a single component inorganic
adhesive for bonding metals and other low absorbant materials which are required
to withstand high temperatures. It is faster curing than Autostic FC and is more
appropriate for some bonding applications, and particularly with less absorbent
substrates.
Autostic FS Product Benefits

Autostic FS Directions for use
Surfaces to be bonded should be dry, clean and grease free. Depending on the area to be covered the adhesive can either be applied directly with the cartridge gun nozzle or dispensed in patches and then spread with a spatula or similar tool. When bonding non absorbent surfaces the adhesive need only be applied to one surface. Because of the faster setting of FS when bonding large or absorbent substrates it is advisable to apply the adhesive to both surfaces and in some circumstances it may be desirable to use lower viscosity Autostic products[.Refer to manufacturer for further advise]

ADHAESIUM
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
ADHAESIUM [Standard]
Standard Adhaesium is a
cold setting, adhesive impregnated fabric; designed for secure fixing of heavy
machines to most types of flooring, without the need for special tools or preparation.
Typical Applications
Lathes
Milling Machines
Drilling Machines
Heavy Pumps
Pumps
ADHAESIUM [light]
Adhaesium
light is an alternative concept using a tough fabric and a separate adhesive paste.
It attains optimum bond strength quicker than standard Adhaesium and is particularly
suitable for fixing lighter machines.
Typical Applications of Adhaesium
Pumps & Compressors
Conveyors
Lightweight
Machines
Product benefits
No specialist knowledge or tools
necessary
Much reduced installation costs compared with bolting
Positive
alignment with minimal effort
Reduction in vibration and noise transmission
No permanent damage to floors
Quick and easy relocation of machines
Physical
properties
Descriptionof Adhaesium: A tough non- woven polymer
fabric either impregnated with a liquid adhesive or coated with a viscous adhesive
paste.
Toxicity: Non toxic and Non hazardous
Flashpoint: >100°c
Shelf
life: minimum 12 months
Cured Properties
of Adhaesium
Average Tensile[z- axis] Strength: 0.42 Mpa. [60
psi]
Average Shear bond stregth: 0.87 Mpa. [129 psi]
Temperature range:
-180°c to + 1150°c
Packaging of Adhaesium
Standard
Adhaesium is sold in plastic pails containing a 2mtr x 10cm length of impregnated
fabric.
Adhaesium Light is sold in plastic pails containing 2mtr x 10cm of
fabric and 500gm adhesive paste.
Directions for use of Adhaesium
1.
Clean floor and base of machine to remove any oil, grease, water or dust.
2.
Measure the mounting feet or standing faces of the machine and determine the bonding
area of Adhaesium required. Where possible it is recommended that the machine
load should be less than 10 psi particularly if any vibration insulation is required.
3.
Mark out on the floor the location of the machine and its Adhaesium bonding strips
[or pads]. These should be arranged to project about 12mm round the feet or baseplate
of the machine.
4. Using standard type; Pull out some of the impregnated strip
felt from the centre of the roll of Adhaesium and cut strips to the requirements
determined in 3 and place in position on floor.
Using light type ; Cut strips
of Adhaesium fabric as above; spread with adhesive paste on one side {using wooden
spatula provided} and bond to floor incorrect position. Now apply a layer of adhesive
paste to upper side of strip.
5. Lower the machine onto the pre laid strips.{if
the machine cannot be 'lowered into position'. then each edge may be levered up
in turn and the Adhaesium compound laid underneath it.
6. The Adhaesium will
take time to develop its optimum tensile bond, but after 24 hours the lateral
stability will be sufficient to allow the machine to be operated without movement.
7.
If the conditions in which the machine is to operate are damp or likely to get
wet, then the projecting edges of the compound should be covered with a bitumous
type sealing compound.
8. To release the mountings [if moving machines];pour
boiling water or apply steam to the mountings and leave to soak for 30 mins. Before
lifting the machine. If the edges of the pads have been sealed cut off exposed
edges before applying water.
Note
The properties of Adhaesium
listed in this data sheet are typical and should not be used as a basis for preparing
specifications.
